Our suggestions
Milan is not only the city of fashion, design and finance, it is also rich in historical, artistic and cultural points of interest.
We offer you some ideas for organising your visit!
Milan Cathedral
The Duomo of Milan, symbol of the city, is one of the obligatory stops on your journey. The imposing Gothic cathedral in the centre of Milan is embellished with large stained glass windows and wonderful sculptures. Don’t miss the opportunity to climb up to the Terraces of the Duomo, from where you can admire a wonderful panorama of the city. Next to the cathedral is the entrance to the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the so-called salon of Milan, where you can find trendy restaurants and cafes as well as numerous stores of well-known brands. Staying in Piazza Duomo, you can admire the world-famous Royal Palace, home to exhibitions, performances and cultural events.
La Scala Theater,
Another mandatory stop on the city tour is La Scala Theater, Milan’s main opera house, known throughout Italy. It was opened in 1778 and with its 2030 seats is one of the quintessential Milanese institutions.
Sforza Castle
Castello Sforzesco is one of the most striking places in the city. Founded in 1368 as a military citadel at the behest of the Visconti family, it was later transformed by the Sforza into one of the most beautiful Renaissance residences in Europe.
Navigli
The Navigli area, which until the 19th century was the city’s port thanks to the series of man-made canals connecting Lakes Maggiore and Como with the lower Ticino, is now the center of Milan’s nightlife. Bars, restaurants, and boutiques crowd the canal banks where people gather for dinner or an aperitif.
